HELICOPTER CRASHES

Helicopters are used for numerous purposes, ranging from logging to sightseeing to agriculture.  As a result, helicopters can and do crash for a variety of reasons.  According to a recent report by the U.S. Helicopter Safety Team (USHST), the fatal helicopter rate has progressively increased over the last three years, from .54 per 100,000 flight hours in 2016 to .60 in 2017 to .72 in 2018.
