Matt joined Krutch Lindell Bingham Jones in September 2020, opening the firm’s new Portland office. Matt practices in aviation law and brings 20 years of experience to the firm’s aviation team.  An outspoken advocate for safety in aviation, Matt represents crash victims and families in wide-ranging airplane and helicopter operations, including commercial airline, charter flights, sightseeing and seaplane tours, medical transport (air ambulance), and private flights.

Fighting for justice in courtrooms throughout the United States, Matt’s efforts have resulted in dozens of seven-plus figure recoveries for victims and families harmed when safety has taken a back seat to profits. Matt understands safe air transport is vital to our interconnected world and pushes the aviation industry to embrace safety as essential to its long-term success.

Matt is a frequent speaker on aviation law and safety and has provided news organizations around the country insight and legal perspective on airplane/helicopter crashes and safety issues. He has served as Chair of both the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and Oregon State Bar Aviation Sections. Matt is admitted to practice in Oregon and Pennsylvania, and regularly appears pro hac vice in jurisdictions around the country.
